Birthday Gag Gifts

This is me singing and playing a rendition of Dave Matthews Bands Steady as we Go. After some help from a very nice guy (you know who you are) i was able to obtain some roughed out sheet music. I then took it to a wonderful composer/instructor in New Haven, CT who spent nearly 6 months teaching me a simplified version, and also the voice that went with it.. Our wedding band Shaded Soul learned the accompaniment, and after the first dance, i went up on stage and gave it a whirl.. It brought down the house, and i think most of the girls in the crowd cried just a bit. (maybe even some guys)

For all you music purists, i already know i was slightly out of tune, and missed a couple notes but for a non-piano playing, non-singing guy just trying to give a unique gift to his new wife, i was pretty happy..So please keep the “you suck” and “keep practicing” stuff to yourselves.

Anyways enjoy and don’t worry i’m not gunning to take Butch Taylor or Dave’s job anytime soon!

Hopefully this will bump me up a few notches on the fan of Dave Matthews Band scale…
